Colorado Gives Day brings in over $18,000 in donations for Free Horizon Montessori! A big thank you to FHM families and friends. All donations go directly to support the FHM misison – “Through the Montessori philosophy, we inspire every child to learn and grow as a responsible global citizen in a collaborative, peaceful, and safe environment.” Thank you!!

A big THANK YOU to everyone who helped make the Fox Trot a success! The volunteers who did everything from setting up the running area to playing Ferdinand Fox; the parents who came to watch and cheer on the kids; the teachers who took time out of their day to bring their students to the field, encouraging them and, in some cases, even running with them! I was so impressed with how energetic and enthusiastic our kids were, too! I witnessed many moments of support and kindness amongst the kids, and that is one of the things I love so much about FHM.
Now it is time to recognize our kids’ achievement by making sure we get our pledges collected. All money raised goes directly to the school and directly to benefit our children. Even though, the Fun Run is over, you can still ask for pledges. Did you not get around to asking Aunt Myrtle before the run? Is there a business you frequent that is civic-minded and might want to make a donation? Do you work for a small business and feel comfortable approaching them for a donation?
Pledge sheets and donations are due by our new deadline of October 16th! Make checks payable to: FHMF. Place pledge sheet and funds collected in an envelope with the words FUNRUN and student’s name written on the envelope. Please, place this in the CSN mailbox in the school lobby.

Parents, grandparents and guardians of FHM students are welcome to join the Free Horizon Montessori CSN closed Facebook group. This Facebook page serves as a virtual method for our FHM community to connect about play dates, community resources, community events, fundraising events, summer camps, and more. The group guidelines are published here.
FHM is partnering with the Golden Backpack Program (GBP) to help feed Golden students in need. This program currently assists approximately 600 students in Golden, including FHM students. Volunteering with GBP counts towards FHM volunteer hours. Read More.
Sheri Harper Champlin, who passed away in 2014, envisioned a system where staff and school volunteers could use remote collaboration technology to facilitate parents and guardians to participate more fully in their children’s school. In honor of her legacy and commitment to her children, she requested that donations be made in her honor to set up and implement remote access for parents and guardians who are physically unable to attend school events.
